SCSC School Board Member Training



APSRC will conduct a "School Board Member Training: Roles and Responsibilities of School Board Members." This training will address the following financial topics: New FLSA Overtime Rules; IRS Audit Issues on Independent Contractors; ACA Healthcare; School District Website Requirements; 5% Salary Increase Resolutions/Reports and the following topics: Board Conflict of Interest; Drug Testing Staff & Students; Flexibility & School Choice; and EESA. It will also cover legal and financial responsibilities. This three-hour training partially meets the requirements of A.C.A. §6-13-629, which requires that all school board members with 12 or more months of service receive 6 hours of school board member training; the hours of which must be approved and certified by the A.D.E. All new board members with less than 12 months of service are required to complete 12 hours, one of which relates to audit interpretation.

IMPORTANT SESSION INFORMATION: Please register with Faye Davis via email: faye.davis@scscoop.org Dinner will be served starting at 4:45 PM. The fee listed above is an estimated cost that covers the meal, materials, etc. Costs for the training will be computed and will be divided by the number of board members attending. The training will begin at promptly at 5:30 PM and will conclude by 8:30 PM, so each board member who completes the training will receive 3 hours of approved training from APSRC.
