Area administrators are invited to spend the day with Solution Tree’s John Wink, current superintendent of Blue Ridge ISD in Blue Ridge, TX, Wink has served as a principal at all levels: elementary, middle and high school, as well as the assistant superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in various districts in Texas.
Wink’s primary work relates to school leadership, specifically that school leadership IS student achievement. When focusing on empowering all staff to become leaders, he has found that schools achieve the highest levels of academic and extracurricular performance from students.
Of particular interest is his adaptation of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs into a Hierarchy of Instructional Excellence. By helping principals understand educators’ basic needs, especially those of novices or others who might be under-performing, schools will build the culture needed to ensure student success.
On January 31st Wink will provide specific strategies for administrators to use when working with both novice and veteran teachers to build the culture necessary to achieve excellence in every classroom.
A copy of Wink’s book will be provided to all who register by December 31, 2017.
There is no cost to attend as this event is being underwritten by the TALENTS grant. Lunch is included.
