SCSC - Fostering Algebraic Thinking

Fostering Algebraic Thinking is organized according to critical challenges algebra teachers face: How can they help students build on their number sense and arithmetic skills to develop their algebraic thinking? What kinds of questions can foster algebraic thinking, and when is it best to use them? How can students be helped to understand, use, and link multiple algebraic representations?

TESS components addressed for this workshop include:   2B, 3B, 3C, and 3D.
