Number Talks are five to fifteen minute classroom conversations around purposefully crafted problems that are solved mentally. Teachers can use student strategies as a way to assess what math their students are struggling with understanding. Students number sense and mental math abilities are strengthened through this daily classroom practice.

TESS components addressed for this workshop include:   1A, 2B, 3B, 3C, and 3D.
