Webb's Depth of Knowledge (DOK) is a language system used to describe the content complexity of learning expectations, instructional materials, and assessment items. The DOK Framework includes: 4 levels of content complexity - DOK 1, DOK 2, DOK 3, and DOK 4. The first half of the day will be an introduction that will provide context for the DOK framework, highlight common misunderstandings, and clarify DOK definitions. During the second half of the training, participants will break out into content specific groups (Literacy and Social Studies, Science, and Math). All participants need to bring materials (textbooks, curriculum maps, assessments, formative assessments, or assignments) that they plan to use in the coming year. A device is also required for this training. TESS components addressed for this workshop include:
1F, 3B, 3D.
