GREC-Arkansas School Nurse Academy



The School Nurse Academy (SNA) prepares Arkansas School Nurses to deal with complex health issues of Arkansas school children.  The Academy equips school nurses with the knowledge and capacity to provide an environment for keeping students healthy and ready to learn.  The curriculum includes psychomotor, critical thinking and leadership skills, and content on specific disorders, evidence-based practice and quality improvement.  The topics to be covered are: Sudden Cardiac Arrest (Cardiac 101), Diabetes and Insulin Pump, Trach Care, and Stop the Bleed Program.  There will be CNE's for this workshop.  LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.     The Arkansas Department of Health is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Midwest Accreditation Program, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's commission on Accreditation.
