SE Word Study 3-6: Morphology, and Vocabulary Instruction

Designed specifically for Grades 3-6 educators, this module focuses on a systematic, engaging approach aimed at exploring the sound, pattern, and meaning relationships among words and developing learners' understandings of how words work to develop vocabulary knowledge through speaking, reading, and writing.  At this stage, many of the words are related and derive from the same Greek or Latin root.  Participants will learn to guide students towards making discoveries about how words work and generalizing their understandings in order to read, spell, and write more efficiently.
