Have you ever received your class list and were immediately filled with anxiety and dread? Have you had a student who requires the same focus and attention as the rest of your class combined? This workshop will give you some simple, yet effective tactics to properly address the issue brought on by the “difficult student”, while at the same time increasing the “difficult student’s” positive school and classroom experiences. In addition, we will provide you the techniques that will allow you to prepare yourself mentally and emotionally to deal will the “difficult student in a productive way. Finally, we will discuss the difference in a tantrum and a meltdown in order to determine the function of the problematic behavior and identify possible solutions limiting the occurrence of the behavior.
