SCSC - SCSC Virtual Book Study: 180 Days: Two Teachers and the Quest to Engage and Empower Adolescents by Kelly Gallagher and Penny Kittle




180 Days represents the collaboration of two master teachers over an entire school year: planning, teaching, and reflecting within their own and each other’s classrooms. Inspired by a teacher’s question, “How do you fit it all in?” they identified and prioritized the daily, essential, belief-based practices that are worth spending time on. Participants will receive a copy of the text and be a part of a virtual book study. Initially, there will be one, three hour face-to-face meeting on June 5, 2018. Participants will learn how to use and access the online tools (Google Classroom, Google Docs, Zoom, Twitter, and/or Flipgrid) used to complete this professional development. The rest of this workshop will be done virtually. The course begins June 5, 2018 and ends August 3, 2018.

For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price.
