ARESC-Close Reading in Social Studies (9-12)
Do your students understand what they're reading? Are they able to explain what they've read? Can they focus enough to progress to more complex readings? Strategies on how to move students forward in social studies through close reading techniques will be the focus of this workshop. It is all about READING WITH AN OBJECTIVE! Why did the author choose those words? How is the writer's craft displayed? How can one text be connected to similar texts? What is the author really saying? Find out how to teach your students to answer these questions and so much more!
