What Principals Need to Know About Depth of Knowledge (DOK) and How It Impacts Scores (8:30-11:30)
Administrators will be introduced to Depth of Knowledge, the language of DOK, the difference between Blooms and DOK, the different DOK levels with examples, and practice evaluating tasks to determine DOK levels. Participants will also be shown how DOK relates to the ACT Aspire assessment and assessment task items. The role and responsibilities of administrators will be discussed.
Understanding and Using ACT Aspire Data to Guide Instruction In Your School (12:15-3:30)
Administrators will walk through all facets of ACT Aspire reporting which will prepare them for the 2018 Aspire reports. Using what is learned, participants will be able to be familiar with different Aspire reports, analyze their own scores, and recognize patterns of data which indicates curriculum and/or instructional issues. Participants will discuss the roles and responsibilities of administrators, specialists, and educators in analyzing test data.
