WDMESC: Move (M.2), Listen/Analyze (M.3), Evaluate (M.3) as Requisite Skills for Other Music Frameworks



All major music methodologies (Dalcroze, Orff, Kodaly, Music Learning Theory) encourage movement and listening skills. This workshop will explore the importance of incorporating these skills and frameworks early in the music learning sequence for the elementary grades. Laban Movement Efforts and Curwen hand signs will be incorporated, as well as gross motor movement activities which emphasize steady beat in usual and unusual meters.

Participants should dress comfortably and wear shoes that are comfortable for participation in movement activities.
