AFESC--Developing a Middle School Writer

This training will focus on developing ideas and organization in a middle school writer. Participants will analyze the ACT Aspire Writing Rubrics for grades 6-8 and explore effective writing strategies to improve student writing. The training will take a close look at how mentor texts can be a valuable tool for teaching students how to craft a piece of writing by examining how an author might choose words, structure sentences and text, or develop ideas based on personal experiences or from other writers.
