ARESC-Student-Centered Modeling in the Secondary Classroom
Mathematical modeling is a process that uses mathematics to represent, analyze, make predictions or otherwise insight into real-world phenomena. Modeling involves messy, open-ended problems that require students to make genuine choices about how to approach problems mathematically, what assumptions to make, and how to determine the effectiveness of the approach used. Teachers will engage in modeling lessons that they can take back and use in the math classroom.
