WDMESC: Hearing Screening Certification for School Nurses



Workshop Description (include source of research):  A nurse that is new to school health lacks the training necessary to understand the requirements and procedures for detecting a hearing deficit in a school-aged child according to the A.C.A. § 6-18-701. 

Learner Outcomes:

• The learner will be able to explain the importance of hearing screening for the school-aged child.
• The learner will be able to identify the components of the hearing screening procedure.
• The learner will be able to demonstrate use of an audiometer.

Course Completion requires participant to: register on A-Train; complete a pre and post course assessment; and to attend the entire session. A-Train session ID # is: 1069037.

Participants are required to log in to A-Train and complete the course evaluation within 2 weeks of completing the course or they will be withdrawn and will not receive CNE Contact Hours.
