This workshop is designed to help teachers recognize the role of vocabulary knowledge in comprehension, examine the standards and the components of effective vocabulary instruction.  We will also examine which words to teach directly and where this fits into daily instruction. TESS Components or LEADS Functions as related to the goals of this session: 1a, 1b, 1e
