NAESC Teaching the Coding Block for grades 7 & 8 from a Project-Based Approach
You’ve been asked to teach coding...now what? Are you interested in looking at multiple free online coding tools such as Micro: Bit, App Lab and Pencil Code that will allow you to teach the coding block from a project-based approach? You will have the opportunity to leave this training with a plan to teach your class in an exciting and engaging manner. Intended for the teacher who will provide instruction in the 7-8 Coding block. Participants will explore the Arkansas Coding Block standards through a series of activities that can be used in classroom instruction. Instructional strategies and extension activities for those offering more than the 4-week requirement will be included. Participants need a computer/laptop that is not a tablet.
