GFESC - BLENDED: MAKING SENSE OF PERSONALIZED LEARNING, COMPETENCY-BASED EDUCATION, AND BLENDED LEARNING.....HOW ARE THEY RELATED AND WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

This session provides an overview of two approaches to teaching and learning that are making headlines for innovative practices and how they are built on a foundation of blended learning.  These approaches place the student at the center of teaching and learning.  Arkansas' Own Team Digital will facilitate the opportunity for participants to learn common vocabulary and understanding to apply in their classroom, building, or district.  Participants will be able to:

  1. Define and differentiate between personalized learning, competency-based education and blended learning
  2. Describe what each approach may look like in the classroom and at school levels
  3. Reflect on how a shift towards each approach could impact a child's education AND your professional role

Important Session Information:

NO COST TO PDC DISTRICTS.  Lunch will be provided.

Participants are asked to bring their own device and headphones, if possible.  If not, please notify the presenter that you need one provided.

This is a blended P.D.  Three hours will be face-to-face with three hours optional to stay in the afternoon or to leave and complete on your own with a follow-up conference set up with the presenter before you leave.
