GFESC - BLENDED: BUILDING PROFICIENCY IN COMPETENCY-BASED EDUCATION

Arkansas' Own Team Digital will introduce participants to competency-based learning and policy changes, such as ESSA and ACT 872: Flexibility in Awarding of Course Credits, that have paved the way for innovation.  Many transformations are taking place in Arkansas as we move toward becoming national leaders in student-focused education.  Participants will leave this session equipped with information that is fundamental to shift from the time-based education system to a learning-based system.  Participants will leave this session able to:

  1. Compare and contrast the traditional model to competency-based model of learning
  2. Identify differentiated and timely support to provide each student flexibility
  3. Discover what competency-based learning looks like from different perspectives
  4. Explore what competency-based learning looks like in your school

Important Session Information:

NO COST TO PDC DISTRICTS.  Lunch will be provided.

Participants are asked to bring their own device and headphones, if possible.  If not, please notify the presenter that you need one provided.

This is a blended P.D.  Three hours will be face-to-face with three hours optional to stay in the afternoon or to leave and complete on your own with a follow-up conference set up with the presenter before you leave.
