Bilingualism in Speech-Language Pathology



This is a fast-paced workshop that will address bilingualism and its application to the field of speech-language pathology.  Topics will include a background in bilingualism research and cognitive applications, conducting effective and thorough assessment for bilingual children, working with interpreters, conferencing effectively with parents, Medicaid guidelines, and optimal treatment practises (if time allows).  Case studies will also be discussed to illustrate application of presented content  Applicable TESS Domains:  Planning/Preparation 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d; Instruction 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d; Professional Responsibilities 4a, 4c.
