NWAESC(2941)---NWA Computer Science Leadership Group

The NWA computer science leadership group (CSLG) will meet to discuss contemporary K-12 computer science topics. This could include what different school districts are focusing on, what they see their needs being, and what topics we as a region need to prioritize related to computer science. This group will also work on coming up with professional development sessions that could be offered by the computer science specialist at the NWAESC. Another major goal of this group will be to develop computer science related events for students to attend. This could be co-sponsoring coding conferences, robotics competitions, diversity events, and so on. This group will also focus on looking at data to ensure that all students have access to high-quality computer science education in this region. We will connect with industry and higher education partners to make sure that K-12 computer science education being provided aligns with the needs of the industry so that students are college and career ready. Lunch will be served from 11:30-12:30. Please contact Jigish Patel at jigish.patel@starfishnw.org if you have any questions.
