This session will focus on implementing Number Talks into the curriculum. The purpose is to build number sense and fluency through five to fifteen minute classroom conversations around purposefully crafted computation problems that are solved mentally. Participants will analyze the research behind number talks and how to determine effective number talks for specific students. Participants will practice recording strategies and questioning techniques through hands-on activities.  This professional development will be based on the book, Number Talks, by Sherry Parrish. Participants will receive a copy of this book.
