NEA - Argumentative Writing for Grades 9-12



The Arkansas English Language Arts Standards for writing place an emphasis on the ability to write logical arguments.  Students at all levels will write about topics, events, or ideas in which people have differing views.  The learning objectives for this PD include:

  • Define argumentative writing.
  • Recognize expectations of state standards for logical argumentative writing.
  • Analyze the components of argumentative writing.
  • Examine how to craft an argument.

Develop an argumentative teaching task.

If you are not under contract with the Northeast Arkansas Education Cooperative or one of our 14 member districts, you will be responsible for all fees related to this workshop.  The fee for this workshop is $25.  Payment is expected the day of the training unless prior arrangements have been made.
