How many of your students
lose focus during the day? They wiggle in their seats, talk to their
peers, fiddle with things in their desks, fall out of their chairs, daydream,
make humming sounds or disruptive noises, etc. In this workshop, you will learn
about the “Sensory Funnel” and why your students might be losing focus at
certain times of the day. I will talk to you about sensory integration
and offer you practical ideas and activities to get your students working and
learning all day long. How many of you
can sit in your seats at a workshop for two hours without needing a brain
break, bathroom break, snack break? I
can’t ! We are asking our students to
concentrate for 45 to 90 minutes at a time before making transitions to more
learning, but just a different subject. Come enjoy this active workshop
and get some great “out of your seat” ideas that you can implement in your
classroom next year to help your students focus all day long!
If you are not under contract with the Northeast Arkansas Education Cooperative or one of our 14 member districts, you will be responsible for all fees related to this workshop. The fee for this workshop is $25. Payment is expected the day of the training unless prior arrangements have been made.
