GREC-Making Sense of Personalized Learning, Competency Based Education, and Blended Learning



This session provides an overview of three approaches to teaching and learning that are making headlines for innovative practices.  These three approaches place the student at the center of teaching and learning.  Participants will have an opportunity to learn common vocabulary and understanding to apply in their classroom, building, or district.  Participants will be able to: Define and differentiate between personalized learning, competency based education, and blended learning.  Describe what each approach may look like at the classroom and school levels.  Reflect on how a shift towards each approach could impact a child's education AND your professional role...and more!  PD hours: 6 ( 3 hours face-to-face/3 hours online engagement)  TESS Domains: 4a, 4e

TEACHERS NOT WORKING UNDER CONTRACT WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN THE GREAT RIVERS CO-OP AREA WILL BE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST.  YOU MAY CONTACT GREAT RIVERS 24-48 HOURS BEFORE THE WORKSHOP TO CHECK FOR AN OPENING.  YOU WILL BE CHARGED A $25.00 FEE PER DAY, $15.00 PER HALF DAY TO ATTEND WORKSHOPS AT GREAT RIVERS.  PLEASE REMEMER THAT IF YOU REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP AT GREAT RIVERS AND DO NOT ATTEND AND DO NOT CANCEL AHEAD OF TIME, YOUR DISTRICT WILL BE BILLED FOR EACH WORKSHOP YOU FAIL TO ATTEND WITHOUT CANCELING.  IF YOU CAN NOT CANCEL ON LINE PLEASE CALL GREAT RIVERS AT 870-338-6461.
