OUR Where Are We Using Mathematics in Baxter County? (5th-12th Grades):We will tour Baxter County Businesses to See Mathematics at Work in Our Area.
When will I use this? Have you heard this question before? We are going to tour local Baxter County businesses to see how they use math every day. We will explore several aspects of mathematics: the use of 32nds on the tape measure, the business side of profits, and the engineering side including the use and
maintenance
of robotics. We will be touring Ranger Boats and Baxter Healthcare. These two businesses engineer boats and medical devices from scratch & are used all over the world. TESS Components or LEADS Functions as related to the goals of this session:
1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, 1f, 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, & 4d.
Important Session Information:
Participants will need to be able to drive or car pool to these businesses.
