GFESC - 7% - STUDENTS WITH COMPLICATED CONCUSSIONS

Synopsis of "7% - Students with Complicated Concussions":

Post-concussion syndrome (PCS) may occur in approximately 5-7% of students who sustain a concussion.  Students with post concussive syndrome may demonstrate symptoms and learning issues, a year, or sometimes several years.  This training will address what schools can do to help students with post-concussion syndrome to be successful.  It will address students' lack of executive skills when they have post-concussion syndrome.  Some students with PCS may also exhibit co-morbid conditions such as ADHD, ODD, and/or Anxiety Disorder, which can complicate the student being successful in the school setting.

The instructor will be Aleecia Starkey, MSP, CCC-SLP, CBIS, Consultant for Students with Brain Injury.
