Coding with Google CS First & Scratch

As a business teacher who was handed the task of teaching middle school computer coding, I found myself in the unique position of being asked to teach something I knew VERY little about. So I immediately began the search for resources. I was excited to come across Google CS First. This is a fun way to teach programming/coding in a fun and dynamic environment called Scratch. Created at MIT, Scratch uses block style coding, but it goes far beyond the basics. Many of the coding standards can be taught using Google CS First. My students are loving it, and many are going beyond their assignments to create other projects. Best of all, it is all FREE and they will even send you printed materials and badges.
