GFESC - HEARTBRIDGE LEARNING CENTER SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL BOOTCAMP FOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS



Topics to be covered include an introduction to social-emotional learning (SEL); how to teach the five competencies of SEL; the role of the growth mindset in teaching social-emotional competency and stability; the teacher's role in leading and teaching the five competencies and the growth mindset; understanding and developing resilience in students; building a classroom culture of safety and acceptance; the trauma informed classroom and how it relates to SEL; how to teach students with ADD and ADHD; strategies for teaching the HeartBridge Personal Competencies Curriculum: (Google Classroom, Canvas, and/or hard copies); and suicide prevention.  There will be variations to the program in each age level with small group work, activities and a lot of movement.  This workshop is great for all teachers whether or not your school uses the HeartBridge Learning Program or not.



Important Session Information:


NO COST TO PDC DISTRICTS.  Lunch will be on your own.

This workshop is a two-day training.  When you register, you are automatically enrolled in both days of training.  You must attend both days to receive your 12 hours of professional development.

This workshop will take place at the Alma Green Room located on the Alma High School Campus.  (103 East Main, Alma, AR  72921)
