NWAESC---TALENTS: Novice Teacher Forum - Grades K-5 - Day 1

First year teachers in grades K-5 are invited to spend the day with highly trained content specialists to spend the day learning various ways to more effectively manage their classrooms, help their students develop a culture of rapport and learning, and to have their questions answered by highly qualified, experienced educators. Classroom management will be the focus of the morning session, followed by an afternoon centered on the science of reading. This first day with novices will also introduce them to The Beginning Teacher's Field Guide, the text with which they'll work all year to improve their skills in the classroom. The follow-up to this book will be both online (through Google Classroom) and in 2 subsequent face-to-face sessions later in the year. Each participant will receive a copy of The Beginning Teacher's Field Guide. This session will be repeated on Sept. 20, 2018. Lunch is included.
