NAESC The Role of the RN in Training the Personal Care Paraprofessionals



This course is for Registered Nurses only.   The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to have the training necessary to return to the school setting and train Paraprofessionals about the laws affecting care of special needs students, the relationship between the school nurse and the paraprofessional, the components of delegation and supervision of nursing tasks performed by unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) and its impact on care provided to special needs students. Paraprofessionals will be able to provide competent, safe and effective care in the school setting under the supervision of the professional nurse.
