UCA STEM: Making Number Talks Matter Grades 6-10

Although number talks are used frequently in Elementary Schools, they can be a quick way to unlock number sense for high school students as well. The practice of number talks is one of the most powerful vehicles for helping students learn to reason with numbers. Number talks can best be described as classroom conversations around purposefully crafted problems that are solved mentally. This session is for teachers who are currently using number talks and would like practice on creating problems that can be used for number talks in the classroom.
