GFESC - INVESTIGATING MINDS WANT TO KNOW: BASIC BEHAVIOR PRINCIPLES

This 6 hour training is fundamental to the understanding and implementation of classroom and student specific behavior strategies.  The information is derived from nearly 50 years of research on individual students with problem behavior and is based on research in Applied Behavior Analysis.  Participants will be able to explain the differences in Applied Behavior Analysis as "therapy" or versus as "science/practice."  They also will be exposed to the seven dimensions of Applied Behavior Analysis to be considered when considering and implementing effective interventions.  In addition, participants will have an opportunity to apply the ABC contingency (through case scenarios) to begin to hypothesize functions of student behavior.  In the end, participants should experience a theoretical shift relative to behavior management and behavior change.
