Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) is a research-based, field-tested, instructional model for science teachers. This training is for 6-12 science teachers, curriculum specialists and others to learn how ADI can transform teaching labs so students have more opportunities to learn how to use DCIs, CCs, and SEPs to figure out how things work or why things happen. ADI is an integrated, interdisciplinary approach that also gives students opportunities to learn how to read, write, speak, and listen in science because it makes scientific argumentation the foundation of all laboratory activities.
Participants of ADI 101 will receive tools to facilitate the eight stages of the ADI instructional model and teaching materials including Stages of ADI poster, Annotating Text poster, Argument on Whiteboard poster and cards, Peer Review Feedback Cards, Back Pocket Question Cards and an ADI book of choice that includes 15 complete ADI labs.
