SCSC - A Day with Bob Probst and Dr. Kylene Beers: Why How We Read Matters
Join us as nationally known authors and educators, Kylene Beers and Bob Probst, share their insights, strategies, and approaches to helping us reach all of our students. As quoted from their latest book, "Reading ought to lead to thinking that is disrupting, that shakes us up, that makes us wonder, that challenges us. Such thinking sets us on a path to changes, if not the world, then at least ourselves." Robert (Bob) Probst is the author of Response and Analysis, he is co-editor (with Kylene Beers and Linda Rief) of Adolescent Literacy: Turning Promise into Practice. Bob has also published over one hundred articles, chapters, and monographs in national and international publications. For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price.
