ARESC-School Nurse Mental Health Forum
School nurses will be trained in Seed Digging, a simple compassionate approach blending multiple validated models in counseling (Person Centered, Psycho-dynamic, Play Therapy, and CBT), and Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs into a simple language helping children understand how emotional and behavioral issues develop. Seed Digging teaches how children and adolescents become addicted quickly and how to overcome and empower them to change thought patterns. The training on a mental health screening tool developed for Arkansas school nurses and the implementation of it as well as working with community resources and utilization to ensure pathways to service will be provided.
