Phonics First Level 1 Orton-Gillingham Course Content is designed for: K-3 General Education; K-5 Intervention, Resource, Special Education.
This comprehensive and highly intensive course qualifies teachers to bring Orton-Gillingham multisensory instruction to their classrooms. Participants will learn to teach the alphabet and phonemic awareness strategies, basic and advanced phonetic concepts for decoding and encoding, three-part drill for review, tactile/kinesthetic spelling techniques for phonetic and non-phonetic words, syllabication for multisyllabic words, oral reading/connected text fluency, and higher-level spelling skills.
This training will be held at the Northeast Co-op, but registration and payment for the course must go through the Brainspring website. Materials needed for the course will be provided.
