Our final day of ECM is coming up next week, Thursday Jan 24. In order to prepare for our time together please complete the two assignments:
Participants’ Prep for ECM Year 1 - Day 7:
1. Find a division word problem in your textbook – bring in your math text with the page
marked. 3rd grade – bring a division word problem with whole numbers 4th grade – bring a division word problem with whole numbers; if you can find a
division word problem with fractions bring that too (you might not be able to find
one so no worries if you can’t) 5th grade – bring a division word problem with whole numbers and a division word
problem with fractions 6th grade – bring a division word problem with fractions.
2. Pose the following problem(s) to your students (for grades 5 and 6 there is a word
problem as well as an equation to pose) and bring your students’ work with you on the
24th. If a student uses a Standard Algorithm for the word problem please ask him/her to
solve the problem with a second strategy.
