Participants will learn about the triune model of the
brain and how it is foundational within the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
movement, as well as how to use this model to interpret student and adult
behaviors. Participants will review and practice classroom strategies to move
both teachers and students from their survial and emotional brains to their
executive brains. More electronic resources will be provided to further explore
executive skill building and to teach students about their brains. SEL Parts
2-5 are recommended, but not required to enroll in this session.
This session is NOT covered under the pd consortium.
