DSC-HSU Improving ACT Aspire Achievement Through STEM in the Elementary Classroom

This free, full-day workshop aims to engage teachers in content connected to clean careers energy and engineering principles.  Teachers will engage in multiple hands-on mini-projects, utilizing specific curricular strategies that their own students will explore in the classroom.  Additionally, teachers will receive access to teacher-developed, classroom-tested units and lesson plans that are aligned to K-5th grade NGSS/Arkansas standards for ACT Aspire assessments, such as basic energy transformations, fundamentals of light radiation as waves, and basics of the engineering design processes.  Each educator that attends this fully-funded workshop will leave with their own hands-on renewable energy tools to bring home, receive substitute reimbursement for their school site, and gain access to additional hands-on supplies housed at the Henderson State University STEM Center "Reddie MakerSpace".
