SCSC - Shifting Small Group Instruction to Match the Science of Reading



Teachers will examine essential assessments from K-2 R.I.S.E. to more effectively organize, plan, and deliver small group instruction to meet the diverse needs of students while targeting the progression of phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. Participants will walk away with effective strategies that match the science of reading to meet the individual needs of students during small group instructional time each day. Days 1-6 of K-2 R.I.S.E. Academy are required.  

TESS components addressed for this workshop include:  1A, 3C, and 3D.

For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price.
