NWAESC(2095)---Book Banter: What should be on your shelf?
What's new? What's hot? What's not? What needs to find your shelf and what needs a rest? This workshop is an opportunity for grades 6-12 library media specialists and teachers to chat about young adult literature that engages today's adolescent reader. You will learn how to engage students with reading and sustain their interest by creating a community of readers through multimodal expression. Book talks, book walks, book share, book fair, remix jackets, make a trailer, create a podcast, assemble a play list, join a fandom---these are just a few examples of how students can become consumers and producers of literature.
