SCSC-Embodied Writing: Active Learning Strategies to Inspire Students in the 4 Types of Writing

Strong writing skills are fundamental to success, yet our students struggle.  In this workshop, teachers will learn how to facilitate students in active writing exercises that engage students' bodies and emotions.  Little Rock teaching artist April Gentry-Sutterfield will facilitate teachers in pre-writing, writing, and revising in engaging and even fun processes.  Gentry-Sutterfield has 18 years of teaching experience at every grade level in urban and rural schools.  During the school year, she runs Arts Integration Services which contracts with arts organizations including Crystal Bridges to create educationally-rich arts-integrated residencies for students across the state.  Join April for a workshop that will get you and your students excited about writing!

TESS components addressed for this workshop include:  1e, 3c, and 2a
