NAESC Catch 'em Being Good: Using Reinforcement to Increase Appropriate Behavior (Essentials Training 4)

Reinforcement is one of the most fundamental instructional practices that can be used to help students acquire new skills or increase desired behaviors. This interactive 6-hour training will help learners gain a greater understanding of basic reinforcement procedures, as well as further explore misconceptions related to punishment and bribery.

This is the fourth of four Essentials Trainings offered by the K-12 Behavior Support Specialists. Essentials Trainings must be completed in sequence. After completion of ALL four Essentials Trainings, participants are eligible to attend more advanced trainings on Instructional and Behavior Strategies and Programming to address moderate problem behaviors. In order to facilitate participation in future BX3 project initiatives, it is recommended that districts form teams and attend the Essentials Trainings.

Important Session Information:

Participants MUST complete the first, second, and third Essentials Trainings (Investigating Minds Want to Know: Basic Behavior Principles; Mission Possible: Defining the Target Behavior; and  Break It Down It’s Data Time: An Introduction to Behavior Data Collection) prior to registration for this workshop.
