Cristi Cary Miller is a dynamic presenter and member of the Oklahoma Music Educators Hall of Fame and former President of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association. Her workshop “A Day of Play” will allow attendees to be engaged in a six-hour, hands-on workshop, participating in a number of creative music-making activities. All of the sessions will include different assessment strategies that can be used in evaluating student progress. Formative, observational, performance-based, peer and personal assessment strategy tips will help participants understand how to keep track of student learning and progress. This workshop will be livestreamed to educational service co-operatives. Information about attending the live presentation at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock can be found by contacting the Arkansas Music Educators Association. Co-op facilitators need to ask attendees to bring barred instruments, unpitched percussion, and recorders to enhance their participation in the workshop.
