SCSC-K-8 Launch into Coding (2 day training)



You have been asked to teach coding...now what? Do you desire to be ahead of the game?  Are you struggling to keep up with your students? This PD will help you Launch into an Outer Space Adventure of Coding. Learning the basics of coding concepts including, variables, conditions, and loops as they are important to successfully Blasting Off and Exploring the Solar System called Code. Join the flight crew of elementary teachers, coding block teachers, and other leaders who want to learn to soar amongst the stars. The flight crew will explore standards related to coding and beyond. Note: Coding Block Teachers - If you need projects, activities, and resources directly related to the coding block please consider joining the Coding Block Resources PD.  Participants will need to bring a laptop or Chromebook. This training is for all K-8 teachers including any 7th or 8th-grade teacher interested in teaching the block. TESS components addressed in this training include:  1c, 1e, 3c. NOTE: This is a two day training. 



Important Session Information:


For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price.
