AFESC--Break It Down, It’s Data Time: An Introduction to Behavior Data Collection

Do you need any tools to help you with collecting behavioral data? Data collection is collecting specific information about a student's performance. Typically, we think of this in terms of academic performance. But what about data collection needed for behavior performance measurement? What do we do then? This 6-hour workshop will help participants: determine the best data collection method based on the type of behavior being measured; use a data collection guide which provides an explanation of each type of data collection method and how to summarize data; and understand basic information for preparing a behavioral graph.

This is the third of four Essentials Training offered by the K-12 Behavior Support Specialist. Essentials Trainings must be completed in sequence. After completion of ALL four Essentials Trainings, participants are eligible to attend more advanced trainings on Instructional and Behavior Strategies and Programming to address moderate problem behaviors. In order to facilitate participation in future BX3 project initiatives, it is recommended that districts form teams and attend the Essentials Trainings.
