ARESC-Person-Centered Planning

Transition plans can sometimes be challenging to develop. Whether your student has lots of support needs, is undecided on career goals, or you are struggling to find assessments that provide you the information you need. Person-Centered Planning can be a great tool! Learn the basics of Person-Centered Planning as we walk you through the facilitator manual and mapping process. This is an approach that focuses on the student to develop a plan for the future that will keep them motivated! It can help you build stronger and more meaningful transition plans for your students. By involving various participants (especially the student) and using everyone's skills and creativity, the process can even be fun! We encourage you and a team member to attend this half day training to learn the basics of how to facilitate a person-centered planning meeting. Arkansas Transition Services will also provide follow-up technical assistance to any team that decides to implement this practice.
