DSC DNA Barcoding Real-world Genetics

To Taste or Not to Taste - Explore Your Own Bitter Taste Gene!
Come learn how to use PCR and DNA Electrophoresis to explore your own personal bitter tasting profile. In this hands-on lab, you will extract your DNA, use PCR to amplify the TAS2R gene, use a restriction enzyme to cut the amplified DNA, separate the fragments using electrophoresis to visualize the DNA bands, and determine your very own genotype for bitter taste. See how this CAN be done in the classroom!
