This two-day workshop is designed for administrators and teacher leaders and will give all participants a clear understanding of the High Reliability Schools framework and the HRS process with a specific focus on the first two levels.
Day One: HRS Level 1: Safe, Supportive, and Collaborative Culture and (Survey Data Dig)
Developing and sustaining a school’s culture is the foundational work of the High Reliability Schools model. Dr. Warrick will present an in-depth study of each of the 8 leading indicators for level 1 and show examples of practice from HRS level 1 certified schools that are moving forward on the HRS journey. Schools that have their HRS level 1 survey data should bring it to the workshop as there will be time to review the data for each of the level 1 leading indicators and Dr. Warrick will be available to discuss data with individual districts or schools during those times.
Day Two: HRS Level 2: Effective Teaching In Every Classroom
One of the most significant school-based factors for student learning is the quality of teaching the occurs in the classroom. Schools must develop a systemic approach to growing the pedagogical skills of every teacher every year. Level 2 HRS was designed with six leading indicators that work interdependently to differentiate for the individual needs of teachers as professional learners while still keeping the school as a whole clearly focused on a common model of instruction. Dr. Warrick will engage participants in an in-depth study of each of the level 2 leading indicators and show strategies from various HRS level 2 certified schools. As part of this day, Dr. Warrick will dedicate time to an overview of The New Art and Science of Teaching framework as a model of instructional practice and show specific examples and ideas for implementation of the NASOT model.
